Many dedicated video conferencing systems, AKA codecs or room systems, have HDMI input ports that Airtame can be attached to. This will allow users to use Airtame to share their screen wirelessly with the TV connected to the room system, for local and video meetings.
Commonly Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) do not offer wireless screen sharing, which forces local participants to connect HDMI cables to their laptops to share content to a call.
How to setup
-
Install the room system following their provided manual and connect the peripheral equipment (camera, microphone, and speakers).
-
Install the Airtame device following the setup instructions for Airtame 2 / Airtame Hub and connect the HDMI of the Airtame device to the room system ingest port.
- Recommended: Set the Sleep schedule for the Airtame device to Instant, under When not in use. This will make sure the screen sharing is only active in the room system when someone is actively screen sharing.
During operation
-
Start the video conference
-
Open the Airtame application on your PC or use the native protocols of your laptop/mobile device
-
Start sharing your device's screen with the video call and TV screen.
Zoom Rooms without HDMI Input
Some Zoom Rooms do not natively have an HDMI input port. In these cases you will need an HDMI capture device, to connect the Airtame device to the Zoom Room.
