There are several ways in which you can show videos as the background for your Airtame device - the options will depend on the Airtame Cloud subscription that you have:
-
Using the Google Slides or PowerPoint integration.
-
Showing the presentation as a video, in order to include the animations and transitions, via OneDrive or Dropbox video integration.
-
Publishing the presentation to the web and inserting the URL into the Settings of an Airtame device.
Option 1: Google Slides or PowerPoint integration
If you have an account with Google or O365, you can upload the presentation to your Google Drive or OneDrive and authenticate with your Google or O365 account.
Airtame will automatically display the presentation and you can even choose the time interval between each slide. Using the integration, you do not have to "Publish to the web...". meaning your presentation will not be made publicly available and is private.
Option 2: Showing the presentation as a video
If your presentation has some animations or transitions, they will not be shown if you are using the PowerPoint integration. If you are using the Google Slides integration, animations and transitions are not recommended, as they may not render well. In that case, you can save your PPTX or Google Slides presentation (with animations or transitions included) as a video file and upload it to your OneDrive or Dropbox account, then use the OneDrive or Dropbox video integration to display the file.
-
Turn your PPTX presentation into a video / Turn your Google slides presentation into a video.
-
Upload the .mp4 file of the presentation to your OneDrive or Dropbox.
-
Use the OneDrive video or Dropbox video integration to configure the Airtame device to show the video of the presentation.
Option 3: Inserting the public URL of the presentation into the settings of the Airtame device
Airtame supports showing public URLs on the Airtame device. With this option, it is possible to show a Google Slides/PowerPoint presentation, since Google Slides/PowerPoint presentations can be published to the web and a public URL is generated.
Google Slides:
-
Open your Google Slides presentation, click "File", and then select "Publish to the Web".
-
Choose the amount of time before the slides advance. Select the option to have the slideshow begin automatically ("Start slideshow as soon as the player loads") and to restart the slideshow after the last slide (looping).
-
Click “Publish” (or “Start publishing”). If a confirmation box appears, click “OK”.
-
Copy the URL that was generated.
-
Open airtame.cloud and log into your account.
-
Go to the Devices tab and choose one or several devices that you wish to have displayed in this presentation.
-
Go to the section called "Background" and choose the option "Website."
-
Insert the URL into the empty field and click on "Apply changes".
PowerPoint:
Using OneDrive, you can make your presentation public, so someone who’s searching the web or who clicks a link can open it in their browser.
-
In PowerPoint for the web, click on Share.
-
Under Share, click on Get a link.
-
Click on Make public.
-
Copy the URL that was generated.
-
Open airtame.cloud and log into your account.
-
Go to the Devices tab and choose one or several devices that you wish to have displayed in this presentation.
-
Go to the section called Background and choose the option Website.
-
Insert the URL into the empty field and click on Apply changes.
Please note that this option is not recommended for use if your presentation contains sensitive information, since this will make the presentation publicly accessible.
