This article explains the dual-screen functionality with Airtame devices. Connecting two screens allows for mirroring content across displays or utilizing extended views during video calls to enhance the meeting experience.
Prerequisites
To utilize dual-screen functionality, ensure the following requirements are met:
Device: Airtame 3.
Peripherals: Two displays connected to the Airtame device.
Video Services: Microsoft Teams or Webex (for extended view).
Hardware Setup
Connect two displays to the Airtame device using the available HDMI or USB-C ports. No additional configuration is required within the Airtame Cloud organization to enable the second screen.
Display Modes
The content shown on the screens depends on the current activity of the device.
Default Mirroring
By default, the Airtame device mirrors content. Both connected screens show the same content. This applies to the idle screen (digital signage) and standard screen sharing from a computer or mobile device.
Extended View (Video conferencing)
When joining a call via a supported video service, the Airtame device automatically switches to "Extended view." In this mode, the two screens display different content to maximize visibility for participants.
The layout adjusts dynamically based on the call status:
1-on-1 Calls
The primary screen displays the remote participant. The secondary screen displays the video feed from the camera connected to the Airtame device.
Group Calls
The primary screen displays the active speaker. The secondary screen displays a grid of the participants.
Screen Sharing
When a participant shares their screen, the shared content appears on the primary screen. The participants are displayed on the secondary screen.
