The YouTube app allows you to run YouTube videos as background or digital signage on your Airtame device. You can choose from a variety of public, unlisted videos, or playlists.
Walkthrough
- Log into Airtame Cloud
- Select one or multiple screens to updated
- Click the Edit settings button
- Click the Signage menu.
- Click the Add button under the Default Playlist section
- Click the YouTube app
- In the URL field, insert the URL of the YouTube video to play
- Optional: Toggle on Loop playback to play the video multiple times, if the duration of the signage app is longer than the video itself
- Optional: Toggle on Mute to mute the video while playing
- Optional: Toggle on Preserve performance to attempt playing the video in 720p. This lowers the needed bandwidth to play the video, improving the buffering time.
- Click the Save button to save the app
- Click the Save button to save the playlist
- Click the Apply button to apply the playlist changes
After a few moments, the selected YouTube video will start playing on the Airtame screen. If the YouTube app is not used as the first signage app in the playlist, the first app in the list will appear first. To test that the YouTube app is working as expected, change the playlist so that the YouTube app is temporarily the first signage app.

Videos and playlists must be categorized as public or unlisted on YouTube. Airtame will not be able to show videos categorized as private.

The YouTube video must be available in the country where the Airtame screen is located
1080p resolution requires at least 5 Mbps of internet speed to play without buffering issues during playback.

- When you choose a video or a playlist, the default duration will be shown. You can also manually choose the duration of how long the chosen video/playlist should be shown.
- The duration of the YouTube app starts counting when the video is done buffering. In other words, the initial buffering will not subtract from the defined duration. A YouTube video that is 1:23 minutes long should play completely if the signage app has a duration of 1:23, even if it spends 7 seconds buffering in the beginning.

- The max resolution of a YouTube video is 1080p at 60 frames per second, depending on the hardware.
