The Room Overview app helps staff and guests easily find available meeting rooms by displaying their schedules on a nearby screen. This digital signage solution shows a real-time overview of multiple room calendars, helping to prevent meeting interruptions and double bookings.
This app is useful for displaying the daily schedule for a group of meeting rooms in a central location, like a hallway or reception area. To display the calendar for a single room on a screen outside that specific room, please see How to change the appearance setting.
How-to
- Log into your Airtame Cloud organization.
- Go to the Screens tab.
- Select the screen where the Room Overview should be displayed.
- Click Edit settings.
- Click Add or the X to replace the current signage app.
- Select the Room Overview app.
- Choose the rooms to display. You can use the search bar to find rooms or drag and drop to reorder them.
- Optional: Change the Label for each room to customize its displayed name. By default, the name from the calendar resource is used.
- Optional: Adjust the Appearance settings to match the branding or environment.
- Click Save.
- Click Apply changes.
After a few moments, the selected room schedules will appear on the Airtame screen. The Room Overview app will fetch updates every 5 minutes to ensure the displayed information remains current. If the app is not the first in your playlist, another app will appear first. To test the setup, temporarily move the Room Overview app to the beginning of the playlist.
Requirements
- An organizational calendar (Google Calendar or Microsoft 365) must be connected to the Airtame Cloud organization.
- Airtame devices and the meeting rooms in the calendar should have matching names for easy identification.
- For the best viewing experience, we recommend displaying 5-6 rooms on a screen in landscape orientation and 9-10 rooms in portrait orientation.
Other notes
- The timezone and clock format are taken from the Airtame device's settings, ensuring consistency across all screens in the organization.
- The search and reorder features in the room selection menu allow for a more intuitive and personalized setup experience.
