Known limitations
We are still testing and polishing things, so you may find bugs or things that do not work. Feel free to report anything you find to us via your Airtame contact person or support@airtame.com.
We have noted down some known limitations that we plan to fix in future releases.
Screen flickering: During the start and end of a session, you may notice a brief screen flicker where the Android background appears momentarily before transitioning to the Airtame screen. We are aware of this issue and are actively working on providing a smoother transition in future versions.
Sharing from mobile devices: Currently, there is no method for sharing to Virtual Airtame from mobile devices running the iOS or Android operating systems, this will be addressed in future releases.
Share to call: Currently, only the host of the video call can share their screen via the Airtame app when on a video call. The “Share to Call” feature is not yet available via the Virtual Airtame app, but will be added in a future release. If a user in the room wants to share their screen into the call they currently have to join the call via their own device.
Selecting peripherals: The Virtual Airtame currently does not always show the correct name for peripheral devices such as camera and microphone.
Permission to access microphone, camera and speaker: When you install Virtual Airtame for Android, you will be asked to grant permissions for the microphone, camera, and speakers. These permissions are crucial for enabling call functionality. However, if you choose "No" during setup, the app will not prompt you for these permissions again. As a result, you may find that you cannot start or join calls because the app does not have access to the necessary hardware. If you encounter this issue, the good news is that it can be easily resolved by manually adjusting the app permissions in your Android settings. Follow this guide to enable the required permissions for Virtual Airtame and get your calls up and running.
