Overview
Airtame Cloud allows users to quickly trigger emergency alerts on connected Airtame-powered screens. This feature ensures that critical messages are displayed immediately across an organization in case of emergencies.
Prerequisites
- An active Airtame Cloud account with owner, administrator or device and content manager role
- Airtame devices enrolled in Airtame Cloud, licensed and online.
Steps to start an emergency alert
- Go to Airtame Cloud and log in with your credentials
- Navigate to the Emergency Alerts 📣 section in the left-hand menu.
- Click Start emergency alert.
- Enter the following details:
- Check the DRILL box if this alert message is a drill
- Template: select the applicable template. Templates include the level of threat.
- Headline: allows you to provide a concise title for the alert.
- Description (optional): allows you to provide more detailed instructions about what to do in this situation
- Screens to alert: select the screens that must be alerted. The selection is done by device groups. All the licensed devices under these groups will be impacted.
- Click Continue
- Check the information provided in the confirmation dialog. Use the Back button if you need to edit some information
- Click the Start alert button to notify the selected screens
Additional Notes
- Starting an alert will stop any ongoing screensharing or conferencing session on the impacted screens.
- It is possible for users to start a new screensharing or conferencing when an alert is active, the screen will get back to the alert when the session ends.
- Multiple alerts can be active simultaneously for the same group of device. In this happens, Airtame will always display the latest alerts received for this group.
- If a device is added to a group while an alert is active, the device will get the alert. The other way around, if a device is removed from a group while an alert is active, the device will lose the alert and will get back to normal state.
- If you screen is sleeping and has CEC functionality, starting an emergency alert will wake up the screen to display the alert.
- On Virtual Airtame, starting an alert will also stop ongoing sessions, and will also bring the app in fullscreen mode on your device.
Best Practices
- Regularly test emergency alerts to ensure screens receive messages promptly.
- Use clear and concise messages for quick understanding.
- Train staff on how to trigger and respond to alerts efficiently.
