Miracast lets presenters use the built-in screen-sharing functionality of their Windows devices meaning the Airtame app is not required.
How to enable Miracast
Requirements
- At least one of Airtame's access points needs to be enabled in the Airtame device settings to facilitate a P2P setup.
- The enabled access point needs to be password protected.
- Ensure that bidirectional TCP traffic is allowed through the local port 7236 on Windows machines for streaming to be allowed.
P2P Considerations
-
If your PC has a secondary monitor attached, it might assign a low resolution to the Miracast device. You will just need to reconfigure your Windows display once and it will remember it from then on.
-
When Miracast is enabled, the Airtame Access Point is renamed to DIRECT-{2-random-characters}-{Airtame name}-{band}. After every reboot or renaming, the Airtame Access Point will get a new name (if it is renamed) and random characters will be replaced by new ones.

By default, Miracast on Windows comes with multiple streaming modes which can affect performance and picture quality.
How to present with Miracast from an Android device
The steps to mirror from your Android might vary depending on your device. The most common ways are either by using "Smart View", "Screen mirroring", "Quick Connect" or through the Cast settings on your phone.
