1. Requirements
-
At least one of Airtame's access points needs to be enabled in the device settings in order to facilitate a P2P setup.
-
The enabled access point needs to be password protected.
-
Ensure that bidirectional TCP traffic is allowed through the local port 7236 on Windows machines in order for streaming to be allowed.
2. P2P Considerations
-
If your PC has a secondary monitor attached, it might assign a low resolution to the Miracast device. You will just need to reconfigure your Windows display once and it will remember it from thereon.
-
When Miracast is enabled, the Airtame Access Point is renamed to DIRECT-{2-random-characters}-{Airtame name}-{band}. After every reboot or renaming, the Airtame Access Point will get the new name (if it is renamed) and random characters will be replaced by new ones.
3. How to enable Miracast on your Airtame device(s)

-
Log on to your Airtame Cloud account.
-
In the “Devices” tab, check that your Airtame devices are running the latest firmware version.
-
Select a device and go to "Edit Settings"
-
Toggle on the Miracast option.
-
Click on “Apply changes”
4. How to present from a Windows device
-
Make sure that the Airtame device is within physical proximity of (i.e. in the same room as) the PC/Laptop.
-
Press (Win + P).
-
Click "Connect to a wireless display".
-
Click on either choose "Select screen" OR Press (Win + K).
-
Click on the name of the Airtame-equipped display that you want to present to.
If you have enabled PIN code, then you will be prompted to enter a 4- or 8-digit PIN that you will see on the screen that your Airtame is connected to. This PIN code will be required every time the Airtame reboots but not when the scheduled Sleep Mode ends.
By default, Miracast on Windows comes with multiple streaming modes which can affect performance and picture quality.
5. How to present from an Android device
The steps to mirror from your Android might vary depending on your device. The most common ways are either by using "Smart view", "Screen mirroring", "Quick Connect" or through the Cast settings on your phone.
If you have enabled a PIN code, then you will be prompted to enter a 4 or 8-digit code that you will see on the screen. If you enter the correct PIN code, the mirroring should then start. This PIN code will be required every time the Airtame reboots but not when the scheduled Sleep Mode ends.
6. Present with a touchback
As of firmware update 4.1.0, Airtame supports Touchback with Miracast. More information about the setup you can find here: Touchback with Miracast.
