What are the benefits of using Authenticated Zoom Calls?
When joining calls on Airtame Hub using your individual Zoom account there are multiple benefits. Two of the most useful are:
- Skip waiting rooms for internal calls: When joining calls with your individual user you can often join internal meetings without having to be let into the call. Without authenticated calls the Hub might have to be let into the meeting since it’s joining as a guest.
- Show up with your personal name in meetings instead of the meeting room name: This makes it easier for e.g. external parties to recognize who is joining the meeting if they invited you
Requirements
- Users need to be running at least version 4.7.0 of the Airtame Desktop application. Call from browser does not yet support Authenticated Zoom calls, but this will be added in the near future.
- Your Zoom organization must allow the Airtame Rooms app for Zoom.
How to Configure
- Open the Airtame desktop app
- Find an Airtame device with a Hybrid license and click Join call
- Go to the Connections tab
- Click on Sign in with Zoom.
- The application should now open a separate browser window where you can sign into your Zoom account.
- Click Allow on the prompt
- Accept that the Window opens the Airtame application
That’s all! Now you can join Zoom calls via Airtame Hybrid devices with your personal Zoom user, allowing you to skip the waiting rooms.
