Configure your network
It is common to have guests and external people connect to a separate network from your internal users and Airtame. This might mean that you have to configure your network so that each VLAN has access to Airtame. We have illustrated and explained our recommended solutions for this here, together with network requirements that should be met: How to integrate Airtame into your Network
Connect to Airtame - with or without the Airtame app
1. Native streaming protocols
Airtame supports Airplay, Google Cast, Miracast Peer to Peer, and Miracast over Infrastructure
The support for native streaming protocols makes it easier for guest users to connect, as it does not require the installation of any applications or software. They can just use the streaming option built into their PC, tablet, or phone.
These streaming protocols are by default disabled on Airtame devices, so you would need to make sure they are enabled and ready for your guests to connect and present. Here is how to enable them: How to enable native streaming protocols
2. Portable / Guest App
For users without administrator rights or users who will only be using Airtame once, you can use the Portable / Guest App. It doesn't need to be installed nor does it require administrator privileges.
Your guests can simply type in airtame.app in their browser, which will trigger a download of the portable app for the platform it is accessed from.
- MacOS users without administrator rights can download the software from here https://airtame.com/download/ and run the dmg files directly without dragging them to the application folder.
- Windows users, we have a "Portable" version of the app that does not require installation nor admin rights. You can download it from here https://airtame.com/download
We have come across quite a few cases where our users would place the Portable app on a USB stick, this would allow the guest users to simply plug it into their computer and stream it to the Airtame device by clicking on the Airtame application.
3. iOS and Android devices
For iPhone and iPad users, you can use the built-in AirPlay functionality, provided this is enabled on your Airtame. Learn more about this functionality here:
For Android devices, you can use built-in Google Cast or Miracast functionalities, provided this is enabled on your Airtame. Learn more about these functionalities here:
