How to show your designs with the Canva app?

The Canva app allows you to select designs created in Canva  and show them on a loop on the Airtame screen.

How to set up a playlist with Canva

  1. Log into your Airtame Cloud account.
  2. Select one or multiple Airtame screens.
  3. Click the Edit settings button.
  4. Select the Signage menu.
  5. Click either the Edit or Add New button for the playlist to use. This depends on whether you already have set up a playlist.
  6. Click the Add button.

  7. Choose the Canva app.

Displaying Canva Designs on Your Screen

When using the Canva app integration with Airtame, you can choose between two display options—each with its own benefits and limitations:

1. Authenticated Access (Recommended for private designs)
Connect your Canva account and securely select the design you want to display. This method ensures your design remains private and does not need to be shared publicly. However, designs are exported as PDFs, meaning any animations will not be shown. Additionally, changes made in Canva may take a few minutes to appear on the screen.

2. Public View Link (Recommended for animated or frequently updated designs)
Paste a public link generated from Canva to display your design. This allows for real-time updates and supports animations, providing a more dynamic experience. Please note that your design must be made public for this option to work, which may be less secure.

 

Authenticate with a Canva account

This option allows you authenticate to your Canva account and pick a design to be displayed on an Airtame screen.

  1.  Click on Authenticate to connect to your Canva account
  2. Once connected, click on Select design and choose a design from your Canva library
  3. Choose your preferred Format
  4. Choose your desired Interval between pages
  5. Click on the Save button

Paste a Canva public view link

  1. Paste the link to your Canva design in the add a public view link. Learn here how to generate a public link for your designs.
  2. For multi-pages designs, select the Number of pages to be displayed
  3. Select the desired Interval between pages
  4. Click the Save button

Additional considerations: 

Authenticated access:

  • This option relies on the Canva export API which requires a Canva paid plan.
  • The Canva export API is limited to 120 request per minute for each user of the integration. If you are planning to display Canva designs on multiple screens, Airtame recommends to use several different accounts to avoid reaching the limit.
  • Animations are not supported.
  • Changes made on the design in Canva will only be reflected on the screen when the Canva app reloads.
  • Only Designs will show in the files to select. Assets cannot be selected in the Canva Export API 

Public view link:

  • The screen will show a progress bar and playback controls—these are part of Canva’s embedded viewer and cannot be removed or hidden. A mitigation solution is to display the Airtame footer, it will mostly hide the controls.
